The Cuban middle blocker joined Sada Cruzeiro in 2016/17. He was twice a national champion in South Korea with Ansan OK Savings Bank (2014/15 and 2015/16), a runner-up at the 2014 edition of the Club World Championships with Al-Rayyan of Qatar, when he was elected the best blocker of the tournament. Simon was champion of the Italian Cup (2013/14) and of the Challenge Cup (2012/13) with Piacenza. With the Cuba national team, he was a silver medal winner in the Champions Cup in 2009 and in the 2010 World Cup, both with finals against Brazil. He was also the NORCECA champion and first in several other tournaments, from 2005 to 2010, playing for Cuba.
