William was an Olympic champion in Rio 2016. He joined Sada Cruzeiro in 2010/11 and since he has accumulated numerous of titles. He was twice a club world champion (2015 and 2013) and a runner-up in Qatar (2012), he was elected the best setter in the three editions of the tournament. He is a three-time South American champion (2016, 2014 and 2012), and a runner-up (2015), the best setter in 2016 and 2012, and champion of the Superliga (2011/12, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16), and a runner-up (2012/13 and 2010/11). He was the best setter of the tournament in six editions, becoming the most decorated athlete in that position. He was a champion of the Supercopa (2015), twice won the Copa Brasil (2016 and 2014), is a three-time champion of the Irvine-USA tournament (2010, 2011 and 2014) and a six-time Mineiro (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015). With the national team, he was a World League runner-up and South American champion in 2013. He was the Argentine League champion with Bolivar (2006/07 to 2009/10) and twice elected best player and best setter of the Argentine League. In Brazil, he was champion of the Superliga in 1997 with Suzano Report.
