Same teams, same prize one year later in Betim

 

Betim, Brazil, October 23, 2016 - Once again, the gold medal match of FIVB Men's Club World Champs will feature Sada Cruzeiro and Zenit Kazan, the same actors than one year ago decided a new champion back then - now fully confirmed as the world's best teams.

This is the fourth match between them and all happened in the last two years, with current champions Sada Cruzeiro holding a slim advantage of 2-1 over Kazan ahead of this next game.

Sada Cruzeiro
- Sada Cruzeiro are making their fifth appearance in the FIVB Club World Championship after a silver medal in their 2012 debut in Doha and a couple of gold in 2013 and 2015 both in Betim. They were fourth in Belo Horizonte 2014.
- Both times they collected a gold medal, it was against Russian teams - Lokomotiv Novosibirsk in 2013 and this same Zenit Kazan in 2015.
- Ahead of this final match, Cruzeiro hold a 16-7 record on their history at Club World Champs.

Zenit Kazan
- Zenit are competing in their fifth FIVB Club World Championship after picking up two bronze medals in 2009 and 2011 in Doha and a silver last year in Betim. They also placed fourth in Doha 2012.
- Against Brazilian rivals, Kazan enjoyed a 3-1 win over SESI in 2011, as the only other team of the country they faced besides Cruzeiro.
- They hold a 14-9 as current win-loss record, with the remark that their last two defeats were on the hands of Sada Cruzeiro.
