Sada Cruzeiro move towards Top 4 with three-set win over Tala'ea El-Geish

Evandro Guerra from Sada Cruzeiro outscored every player in the game with 13 points

Betim, Brazil, October 19, 2016 - Spurred by another noisy crowd at Ginásio Divino Braga, defending champions Sada Cruzeiro from Brazil handled to Egypt's Tala'ea El-Geish a 3-0 defeat (25-18, 25-20, 25-15) while placing their minds on next weekend's semifinals duel.

Home favourites were headed by opposite Evandro Guerra, who shone with 13 points, while Yoandy Leal chipped in with 10 to boost Cruzeiro atop of Pool A with perfect numbers. Egyptian bomber Ahmed Abdelhay collected 12 for the losing side, which now holds a 0-2 record.

Wing spiker Leal was at top form in the first set, quickly bringing down a spirited Egyptian team. After the final bomb from the Cuban, second set went on in the same fashion, igniting the joy of the local fans.

However, nothing is that easy at a World Championship and Tala'ea El-Geish demonstrated that by keeping things tight on the third part. It was a fine attempt, until Evandro reached the service line and unleashed three aces for the final twist (20-13). Rodriguinho, born and raised in Cruzeiro, had the honour to seal the game also with a service point.
