Sada Cruzeiro celebrate South American Men's Club Championship victory

 

2015 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship winners Sada Cruzeiro celebrate winning this year's South American title

Taubaté, Brazil, February 22, 2016 - Sada Cruzeiro defeated hosts Funvic Taubate to claim gold at the 16th edition of the South American Men’s Club Championship and a place at the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship later this year.

An action-packed final saw Sada Cruzeiro defeat hosts Funvic Taubate 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-10) in an hour and 22 minutes. Wallace Souza was the top scorer of the match with 11 points. Ricardo Lucarelli led the local team on points.

The Club World Champions reached the final of the competition undefeated after straight set wins against Bohemios from Uruguay and San Martin from Bolivia and a 3-1 victory against Funvic Taubate during the preliminary round. They qualified for the final after a three-set win against Argentine club UPCN.
