Lausanne, Switzerland, October 6, 2016 - A host of Rio 2016 Olympic medallists are back in action this month - this time representing their clubs at the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship which begins in Betim, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, on October 18.

Out of Brazil's Rio 2016 gold-winning team, setter William Arjona is back in action this month to lead defending champions Sada Cruzeiro of Contagem, together with opposite Evandro Guerra, who retruns to club duties in his home country after a two-year stint in Japan's V.League with Suntory Sunbirds.

Although Russia failed to make the podium in Rio 2016, reigning European champions Zenit Kazan also have a couple of Olympic champions on the squad - opposite Maksim Mikhaylov and setter Aleksandr Butko, who were on the golden Russian team of London 2012.

Trentino Diatec, the most prolific club in the competition's history, may not have any Olympic gold medallists on this season's team, especially after Italy lost in straight sets to Brazil in the Rio 2016 final, but they do sport four of their country's silver medallists: Simone Giannelli, Filippo Lanza, Massimo Colaci and Oleg Antonov.

Setter Simone Giannelli returns to Brazil after leading Italy to silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games - this time to head Trentino Diatec in the Men's Club World Championship in Betim.
