Brazil v Argentina, take two

 

Betim, Brazil, October 21, 2016 - The Bolivar v Minas Tenis Clube game is the second Brazil v Argentina classic in the 2016 FIVB Club World Championship, after Minas Tenis Clube clashed with UPCN San Juan earlier in the competition.

Brazilian and Argentine side have clashed only twice in the history of the FIVB Club World Championship. Sada Cruzeiro beat UPCN San Juan in straight sets in 2013 in Betim, before the Argentines returned the favour in five sets in 2014 in Belo Horizonte.

Bolivar
- Bolivar return to the FIVB Club World Championship for second time, since finishing 4th in 2010 in Doha, losing in the bronze medal game to Iran's Paykan Tehran in five dramatic sets.
- Bolivar have won the South American Club Championship once in 2010.
- Counting their two matches on 2016, they now hold a 3-4 win-loss record at the competition.

Minas Tenis Clube
- Minas Tenis Clube are making their debut appearance in the FIVB Club World Championship.
- As their two first matches ended on defeat, they are still on the search for a first-win at World Champs.
- They no longer have chances of reaching the semifinals in Betim.
