One of the youngest setters in the Brazilian national league, Fernando Cachopa started with Sada Cruzeiro's youth team in 2014, and has had opportunities to play with the professional team. He is a club world champion (2015), twice a champion of the Superliga (2015/16 and 2014/15 ), a South American champion (2016) and a runner-up (2015). He is also a champion of the Copa Brasil (2016), a champion of the Supercopa (2015 ) and a Mineiro (2015). With Sada Cruzeiro's youth team, the setter also won many titles, including the Metropolitano Juvenil, and was a runner-up in the Taça Paraná, when he was elected the best setter and best player of the tournament. Fernando Cachopa has also played with the Brazilian team. He was a South American youth champion in 2012, a world champion in the under 23 category in 2013, a South American youth champion in 2014 and a South American U22 champion also in 2014 and 2016. In 2015, he won the U23 Pan American Cup in the United States, and the U21 tournament in Canada.
